Thought for Today: Work Well

Work is only work if you prefer to be somewhere else. Work tends to be a negative perception of a task which we reluctantly approach. Work is only labor when we forget to see our life as it truly is — an opportunity to be creative, enrich others and be enriched ourselves. When we are able to see work in this way, we find something called enthusiasm inside. When we are enthusiastic we work well and we are valued. We are used as a role model. When we work well it is much easier to say no when we need to, for we know our own value, and we are not dependent on others' approval to feel good about ourselves. When we put love and enthusiasm into what we do, it rebounds in the form of opportunities and blessings, two of the most important ingredients of a truly wealthy life.

Thought for Today: Cherished Soul

Thought for Today: Enthusiasm Inspires Others

The one who is constantly full of enthusiasm inspires others. Whenever problems come our way, we tend to feel weighed down by negative thoughts. Heaviness in the mind prevents us from moving forward with enthusiasm and makes it tricky for us to inspire others. Whenever I encounter a difficult situation, I need to make a special effort to remain free and light. The more enthusiastic I am, the more progress I will make. My attitude will inspire others, too.

Thought for Today: The Value of Enthusiasm

The Salmon River valley in Middle Fork, Idaho under reddish sky conditions

To be free from carelessness is to be constantly enthusiastic. Carelessness has a tendency to spread from one person to another. When I see someone working carelessly, I need to remain strong within myself and pay close attention to my work. This will help me to move ahead with enthusiasm.

The Artist's Way Every Day - February 26th

As artists we must learn who and what to give a wide berth. We must steet clear, if we can, of people who dampen our enthusiasm, who cut short our flights of fancy. Like the sharp-taloned owl, a sharp tongue goaded by cynicism can quickly tear our optimism to shreds. We are resiliant but delicate. We must be alert. We must be viligant. We cannot control everyone around us, but we can learn whose company is good for us and whose company causes us to shrivel and shrink.

This Is To Have Succeeded

Blonde Brazilian model Celine Brinkgreve sits wearing a teal pattern Kiby's swimsuit

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived — this is to have succeeded.
