Silent Voice Of Inspiration

Blonde beauty Kimberly McArthur was Playboy's Playmate of the Month for January 1982

There is no necessity for a technique or formula for meditation. Inner feeling, or inner knowing, is the silent voice of inspiration.

Thought for Today: Banish Sorrow

Water rushes down the St. Clair waterfall in Thalawakele, Sri Lanka

Don't be sorry, be content — it's a choice not a chore. Never identify with others' sorrow or you will go down with them. Be with them, but stay up, so you can uplift them. Help them put things in perspective. But first do that for yourself. Your feeling sorry? Why? Have you lost something? It's an illusion — you have nothing to lose. Everything that comes to you comes to pass, literally. So let all things pass and you will turn the illusion of loss into the reality of liberation... and sorrow will be a distant memory.

The Power Of Negative Thinking

My optimism and confidence come not from feeling a'm luckier than other mortals, and they sure don't come from visualizing victory. They are the result of a lifetime spent visualizing defeat and figuring out how to prevent it.

Like most astronauts, I am pretty sure that I can deal with what life throws at me because I have thought about what to do if things go wrong, as well as right. That is the power of negative thinking.

Thought for Today: Choose Feelings

If your days seem filled with unwanted negative feelings, there is only one cure. When they come, choose them. Don't ask why, don't wonder how, don't fight them and never put yourself down for having them. But most of all never blame someone else for how you feel. If you do, it means you are still fast asleep and your choice is to be a victim. When the feelings come, even big disturbing emotional feelings say, "I choose this feeling" and know it comes because of something you have thought or done in the past, perhaps a certain belief that you have learned or an attachment that is threatened. Choice does not mean you want the feelings, but it does mean you are taking responsibility for them. And that is the beginning of self mastery. It is the first step to the healing and resolving of your emotions. But only the first step. Try this today and then ask yourself what the next step might be. If you are really interested to know, you will come to know!

Thought for Today: Heal Yourself

The deepest wounds we all carry are locked in our subconscious (out of our awareness). Deep memories and subtle impressions, from unfinished experience, rooted in the past. The pain from those wounds comes to revisit, to block and paralyze us in the moment called now. We all know it comes without warning — "Why am I feeling this way, I didn't mean to do that, I don't know what made me say that." Healing does not mean finding and treating every single inner scar which send it message to haunt us. It means going even deeper, past those wounds, beyond those distant memories and recording of unfinished business, to the core of our self, to the heart of our spirit, where we find the light and warmth of our own core qualities of love and peace. They are eternally present within us they are what we need to heal all our inner wounds. That's why this kind of deep healing is called spirituality and not therapy.

Thought for Today: Feeling Great

Feeling great is about putting our life in order, rather than having a good time or feeling good at any cost. It is about bringing our inner world into harmony, developing the maturity to align our inner world of thoughts, attitudes and feelings with our outer world of actions, words and relationships. If there is confusion inside, there will be confusion outside.

Daily Reflection: My Love

My love is an essence before it is a feeling.

Thought for Today: Best Kind of Friend

Sunset over the mountains as seen from Blue Ridge parkway

The best kind of friend is the kind, you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away, feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

This Einfühlung Is Developed By Experience

Raven Brazilian beauty Larissa Ramos poses by sea rocks in a sexy swimsuit

The supreme task of the physicist is the discovery of the most general elementary laws from which the world-picture can be deduced logically. But there is no logical way to the discovery of these elemental laws. There is only the way of intuition, which is helped by a feeling for the order lying behind the appearance, and this Einfühlung [literally, empathy or 'feeling one's way in'] is developed by experience.

Just as walking aerobicizes the physical body, producing a flow of endorphins and good feelings, writing seems to alter the chemical balance of the soul itself, restoring balance and equilibrium when we are out of sorts, bringing clarity, a sense of right action, a feeling or purpose to a rudderless day. Furthermore, writing when we are out of happiness can lead us into writing from happiness. We recall happier moments and recall happiness itself.

Creativity in God energy flowing through us, shaped by us, like light flowing through a crystal prism. When we are clear about who we are and what we are doing, the energy flows freely and we experience no strain. When we resist what that energy might show us or where it might take us, we often experience a shaky out-of-control feeling. We want to shut down the flow and regain our sense of control. We slam on the psychic brakes. Every creative person has myriad ways to block creativity. The choice to block always works in the short run and fails in the long run.

Thought for Today: Secrets to Overcoming Procrastination

St. Mary's River in winter at Glacier National Park, Montana

Procrastination is not only the thief of time, it is the creator of subtle inner tension. You know you are cheating yourself. There are three secrets to overcoming procrastination. One, don’t wait till you feel like doing it — the feeling will come when you start doing it. Two, list all the things you have to do and then prioritise the list. Three, create a vision of the result and be motivated by the vision of the outcome, not the thought of the process.

Such Profound Intellectual Gifts With Such Self-renunciation

Blonde American actress Jessica Alba dressed in pink

With deepest veneration and fellow feeling, I clasp your hand on the occasion of your eightieth birthday. I know of no other person who combines such profound intellectual gifts with such self-renunciation while finding the whole meaning of his life in quiet service to the community. We — all of us — thank you not only for what you have accomplished and brought about, but also because we feel happy that such a man should exist at all in this time of ours, which is so lacking in genuine personalities.
With reverent greetings....

Thought for Today: Abundance

Abundant color surrounds this lake under a late summer sky

Abundance is to see that there are endless possibilities before us. And at the same time, still see an incredibly rich existence right where we are. It is a feeling of gratitude for everything and everyone we have in our life.

Thought for Today: True Peace

Mount Fuji in a peaceful blue as well as reflection in water

True peace can be experienced only when we stop giving and taking sorrow. In order not to give sorrow we need a clear heart that has no ill feelings and for not taking sorrow we need a big heart that can tolerate and help other souls to get over their weaknesses.

Answered prayers are scary. They imply responsibility. You asked for it. Now that you've got it, what are you going to do? Answered prayers deliver us back to our own hand. This is not comfortable. We find it easier to accept them as examples of synchronicity. It's my experience that we're much more afraid that there might be a God than we are that there might not be. People talk about how dreadful it would be if there were no God. I think such talk is hooey. Most of us are a lot more comfortable feeling we're not being watched too closely.

As artists, we have antennae sensitive to the thoughts and feelings of those around us. We can be chilled by indifference, hurt by lack of consideration, and we can be exhausted and diminished if we are in the company of those who talk down to us or treat us subtly like the identified patient: "Oh, you and your crazy ideas." As artists, we need our crazy ideas, and we need those who don't think they're too crazy. Symphonies and screenplays begin as crazy ideas. So do novels and nocturnes, bronzes and ballets.

More Than A Feeling

Look at the weaknesses of others with compassion, not accusation. It is not what they are not doing or should be doing that is the issue. The issue is your own chosen response to the situation and what you should be doing. If you start to think the problem is "out there," stop yourself. That thought is the problem.

The Artist's Way Every Day - November 8th

It is important to be able to sort useful criticism from the other kind. Often we need to do the sorting out for ourselves, without the benefit of a public vindication. As artists, we are far more able to this sorting than people might suspect. Pointed criticism, if accurate, often gives the artist an inner sense of relief. Useful criticism ultimately leaves us with one more puzzle piece for our work. Useless criticism, on the other hand, leaves us with a feeling of being bludgeoned. As a rule, it is withering and shaming in tone; ambiguous in content, personal, inaccurate, or blanket in its condemnations. There is nothing to be gleaned from irresponsible criticism. You are dealing with an inner child. Artistic child abuse creates rebellion creates block. All that can be done with abusive criticism is to heal from it.
