Next time you are waiting for anything, notice what you are wanting! This will be a source of your tension or impatience. All desire has fear built in — fear of not getting or losing, even before your desire is fulfilled. The secret is to want nothing, and then magic happens, for lo and behold, all that you need and more arrives in your life, at the right time, in the right way.

Humility dismisses nothing, rather, it takes even small things into consideration. It recognises that whatever life presents, needs to be respected. Small things are easily found in something big, but inside little things there is often greatness.

The heart is like a flower — unless it is open it cannot release its fragrance into the world. The fragrance of the heart is made up of the qualities and virtues of our spirit. Most of us have learned how to keep our heart closed in a world that would trample all over us if we let it. Being open hearted today seems to require tremendous courage. It is a courage which comes only when we realise that no one can hurt us, no matter what they say or do. They may hurt our body, but if we have realised we are spirit, nothing outside can touch us, if we so decide. Little by little, practice opening your heart to those you think have hurt you. Realize it wasn't them that hurt you, it was yourself. And it taught you not to trust and you closed your heart. A closed heart is in need of opening. And when you do, you will have begun to heal yourself.

Humility puts a hand out to nothing extra, but simply takes what's there. Whether that be food or clothing or understanding. Sometimes there is a lot available and sometimes only a little. It doesn't matter. Even when you understand nothing, there is no worry, for in humility there is the trust that if a person feels themselves to be a child of God, everything will come anyway at the right time.
