This is the personal web site of Lars Toomre, who is a Capital Markets specialist and an Enterprise Risk Management ("ERM") entrepreneur, residing in the greater New York City area. To quickly acquaint the reader with Lars' professional background, after leaving Munich Re where he was responsible for both the weather trading and ERM underwriting businesses, Lars founded Toomre Capital Markets LLC, a premier Capital Markets advisory firm dedicated to improving Economic Value Added ("EVA") through ERM. Earlier in Lars' career, after completing engineering studies at M.I.T., Lars started Lehman Brothers' (and Wall Street's) CMO business back in 1983, headed the mortgage trading business at Smith Barney, traded mortgages and derivatives at UBS, and was both a portfolio and risk manager for MetLife Investment Management with a particular focus on long-duration and immunized portfolios. Lars remains an active member of PRMIA, the Professional Risk Managers' International Association.
